How can I make using candles safer?

    • I want to cut back on electricity now that it is summer. I have two AC wall units so I like to cut back on electricity elsewhere to balance things out. I would love to be able to use candles at night but I am worried that if I use candles, my risk of fires will go up a lot and I have a few cats which makes it even more of a risk. Are there ways to make it safer?

What I like to do is use small bowls of water and place the candles in those. So If it does tip over for whatever reason or the glass breaks, there will be water to stop the candle’s flame from spreading anywhere else.
