Molly Green replied to the topic If I can pay off a card in full, should I? in the forum Debt 1 year ago

I mean you can boost your scores if you pay it off slowly. Like Sammy mentioned, you can do two payments a month for say, 2 or 3 months instead of paying it all at once.

Molly Green replied to the topic How can I verify that a debt collector is legitimate? in the forum Debt 1 year ago

I never knew this! I would never have heard of asking for a letter. I even Googled it and you are 100% correct, this is a legit thing you can ask for and if they don’t supply it, you know they are lying! Nice!

I can’t remember the process of doing this but you can cancel it on your end. Who is the primary card older? Whoever’s name is the primary, which I am assuming is you, you will have to cancel her card and her profile attached to the card.

Molly Green replied to the topic Should I use one card to pay off another? in the forum Credit Card Co. 1 year ago

I don’t think this is a good plan! I have done this myself and it ended up backfiring. My payment from one card to the other was declined because apparently, certain creditors can detect and decline this so I ended up having a late fee and it hurt my scores. I wasn’t even aware of it until the next month’s payment was due and I was notified the…[Read more]

Molly Green replied to the topic Are Discover cards really that bad? in the forum Credit Card Co. 1 year ago

I think Discover is best for business owners, travelers, and people who do a lot of bigger transactions. I feel like for someone with lower credit or someone looking to build credit, there are way better options out there.

Molly Green replied to the topic Which credit card will build my credit scores the fastest? in the forum Credit Card Co. 1 year ago

I was told the same thing and ended up getting one for myself. I had it for about 5 months now and my scores have already gone up a bit. I have been paying on time each month. I am glad to see improvements so fast.

Molly Green replied to the topic Is it possible to get into a career in IT without a degree? in the forum Career Advice 1 year ago

I think it is but you really need to show you know what you are doing and I seldom hear of larger companies offering trials. You would likely be able to find work through a smaller company, they tend to be more family-oriented and willing to give people chances.

Molly Green replied to the topic How do you become "well known" online? in the forum Career Advice 1 year ago

I think Alex is right, you want to find others who have a community around them already and work together. If you have it in you to do videos, do them on YouTube, TikTok or Instagram. They can help a lot!

Molly Green replied to the topic Earning Through Blogging in the forum Side Hustle Crew 1 year ago

If you can get right with Google and maintain traffic, you can earn a lot through blogging. The issue is that Google changes so much that you have to be prepared to make changes yourself. They do major changes usually in January of every year and it can really kill someone’s traffic to a site overnight.

Molly Green replied to the topic Selling Amazon products on eBay? in the forum Side Hustle Crew 1 year ago

I remember reading tons of blog posts about this years ago. People were making a killing doing this. Some still do but it is a lot of work. The more products you offer the more you can make but the more you have to track. It is really a 2 or 3 person thing to do. Best to have at least a partner in on it to help manage everything.

Molly Green replied to the topic eBay vs Amazon – Which is more profitable in 2021? in the forum Side Hustle Crew 1 year ago

I would say Amazon overall but it is easier to make and maintain sales on eBay, at least in my opinion. This likely comes down to what you are selling and how often the market fluctuates for the products you are selling.

Molly Green replied to the topic Tips for a first time investor? in the forum Investing Hub 1 year ago

Start small. I think that is the best tip you will find. Just dip your toe into some stocks and see what happens. If you find yourself turning a profit, use your profits to reinvest. Get to a point where you are not using the money you earned to invest but only investment profits.

Molly Green replied to the topic How do I know what company's stock to invest in? in the forum Investing Hub 1 year ago

There is no way of knowing what is good or bad but you can follow trends. A lot of stock right now that is expected to do well deals with technology and medical care. Look into companies that offer advanced technology for medical purposes.

Molly Green replied to the topic Should you start out investing bigger? in the forum Investing Hub 1 year ago

Some people say go big or go home but I say go smart or stay dumb. lol

What I mean by that is only invest smartly. Don’t gamble your money and don’t invest money you can’t afford to lose. If you take half your check and put it into stocks, you are gambling.

Molly Green replied to the topic Best platforms to earn online for creative people? in the forum Insiders Side Hustlers' Club 1 year ago

I think eBay is great and I say this from somewhat personal experience. My sister sells items on there. She buys things used or very cheap on clearance and then makes items up and makes a profit. She ends up making around $600+ each month doing this.

Molly Green replied to the topic Avoiding scams, how do you do it? in the forum Insiders Side Hustlers' Club 1 year ago

I have fallen for a few in my time and I am quite embarrassed by it but I think a lot of people have. It sucks but once you know the telling signs, you won’t fall for it. As Dana said, if it sounds too good to be true, then it is!

Molly Green replied to the topic Going meatless, does it save? in the forum Frugal Living Tips 1 year ago

I find it better to buy meat when you find it on sale and just freeze it. You are able to get higher quality meat and store it to have. I do this mostly with chicken since I am not a big beef or pork person but it works!

Molly Green replied to the topic Is a savings account a good idea these days? in the forum Frugal Living Tips 1 year ago

Yeah I have two, since I have two different bank accounts. They kind of make you have one these days when you sign up for a bank so if you find a bank that has it as an option, expect them to be charging insane fees for overdrafts!

Molly Green replied to the topic When it comes to making the switch, where do you start? in the forum Frugal Living Tips 1 year ago

Write down your spending habits for an entire month. Track what you spend on general goods, food, gas, monthly bills, insurance, and everything in between. Then look where you can cut corners. Start with that so you can make sure you are still able to maintain your needs. You can get more frugal as you adjust.

Molly Green replied to the topic What options do I have to keep crypto safe-guarded? in the forum Crypto FOMO Club 1 year ago

I agree with Vicky. While I am still new to everything, having a cold wallet is ideal. I am going to look into hardware wallets more myself as well. I heard about them late last year but didn’t actually start buying crypto until February of this year.
