Kitty Davis replied to the topic Best platforms to earn online for creative people? in the forum Insiders Side Hustlers' Club 2 years, 10 months ago
Thanks, I am going to look into these. I know someone who has an etsy shop and from what I have heard, the prices aren’t that bad. You only pay them when you make a sale and it is relatively cheap to do so.

I guess this does make sense. City living is already expensive and living in or near the city will always increase unless the city ends up getting run down like Detroit but even then, they have 8 Mile where one road splits people living in poverty from people living high off the horse!

Kitty Davis replied to the topic If I can pay off a card in full, should I? in the forum Debt 2 years, 10 months ago
Does making two payments a month really help?
I guess this means making a payment every time I get paid (bi-weekly). I have read good and bad things about this though. I will have to look into it more.

Kitty Davis replied to the topic Is it possible to get into a career in IT without a degree? in the forum Career Advice 2 years, 10 months ago
Seems like this is the case for most things. If you know the right people, you have a step up in life from the start. Sucks how that works out. I mean that is good you don’t need a degree but still. If you don’t know anyone, you are not as likely to get hired.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you make off your investments? Paying off a house to me sounds like you made a lot off DOGE. I guess it is not likely to have that great of a jump again so if you missed out, you missed out. At least that is what I have been reading since posting this.

Thanks for your tips guys/gals!
Yeah, I know about value menus but they seem so much smaller these days. I don’t tend to find many things I like on those. I guess I will have to really look at the coupons and only eat out when I have deals.

Kitty Davis replied to the topic Cutting The Cord! in the forum Frugal Living Tips 2 years, 10 months ago
This sounds just like my parents! They have been with cable since I was born and they are very reluctant to be without it. They have considered it but each time they had, they changed their minds. It is a shame too because switching to something else would be substantially cheaper!

That is one of the biggest downsides to cable TV and other things of that nature, you are locked into a contract. It is best to get ones that you are contracted to stay. They not only are less likely to raise the cost of your monthly services but you lose nothing if you decide to change.

Kitty Davis replied to the topic Tips for a first time investor? in the forum Investing Hub 2 years, 10 months ago
I am in the same boat. I keep hearing about people getting huge revenue through investments. One of the people my friend works with ended up being able to buy a house because he invested in the right crypto. That is nuts to think about, using cash to buy a house in 2021.

Kitty Davis replied to the topic Is it smart to use credit to buy crypto? in the forum Credit Card Co. 2 years, 10 months ago
Oh, really? I was not aware that you can’t buy crypto with credit cards. Do they only accept banking cards then? I wish I had knew this sooner. I would not have been looking into these options. I didn’t know you could use loans either but I guess that makes sense. You get a personal loan and just have the money in your bank account.

A friend of mine could not afford college but has been into computers since he was 12 years old. He knows how to fix them, build them, run servers, and diagnose issues. He even knows how to reverse hack a system to find viruses and malware. Is it possible to actually find a company that would hire you in the IT field without having any degrees if…[Read more]

Kitty Davis started the topic eBay vs Amazon – Which is more profitable in 2021? in the forum Side Hustle Crew 2 years, 11 months ago
I know several people who have used both over the years but currently, I don’t know anyone using either platform in 2021. I have heard negative things about Amazon, especially after 2020, and how they were screwing over people who sold on the platform. I have also heard how hard it can be to get a good seller’s status on eBay.
Which is the…[Read more]

Kitty Davis started the topic What happens if you file for bankruptcy? in the forum Debt 2 years, 11 months ago
My parents are in a position (thanks to COVID) where my father might have to file and he doesn’t want to. My mother seems to think it is not a big deal and it can help them. I don’t fully understand bankruptcy so I am curious to know what happens after someone files.

Kitty Davis started the topic Who offers pet insurance? in the forum Insurance 2 years, 11 months ago
I am looking into options where pet insurance can be added on. I am not sure if I would do this through my medical insurance or if it would be done through a place that offers home, auto, boating insurance. I remember seeing commercials about Geico offering pet insurance but I don’t know if they still do that or not.

Kitty Davis started the topic Can you get your price to do down if you mention a competitor? in the forum Insurance 2 years, 11 months ago
I know with banks, cars, and other styles of loans/purchases, you can more often than not strike a better deal if you mention a competitor and going with someone else. Can this be done with insurance as well? If so, what is the best method?

Kitty Davis started the topic Is the market expect to increase a lot? in the forum Real Estate 2 years, 11 months ago
I am worried that if I and my husband don’t buy a home this year, we will end up being stuck paying a bigger mortgage. A lot of people say that houses are expected to go up in value/cost by as much as 40% which is insane!! I am really worried.

Kitty Davis started the topic Anyone sell on Etsy? in the forum Side Hustle Crew 2 years, 11 months ago
I was considering opening an Etsy shop to sell some of the things I make. Mainly they are jewelry-related items but I also do things like dream catchers, windchimes, and other decor.
Do you sell on Etsy? Is it a good marketplace to work on?

Kitty Davis started the topic How do you know when to buy before the bull? in the forum Investing Hub 2 years, 11 months ago
I am trying to study patterns and understand it more. I know for those of us looking to make money on the stock market, this is one of the keys. You want to buy right before the market “bulls upward”. So ideally you would want to buy after a bearish turn in the hopes it will go back up.

Hey Sammy! Retiring early is a goal for me too. I would love to be retired by 50 and spend my “golden years” with friends and family, do some traveling, and enjoy that half of my life.

Hey Bob! It was new for me too. I remember when I first made the change, it was hard not to spend like I was before but once you get a system down, things become a lot easier.
