Uber Visa Credit Card Review – Should You Apply? Yes

Quite simply, the Uber Visa credit card is one of the most frequently used cards within my arsenal of credit cards. I have a plethora of credit cards and somehow, someway, the Uber Visa keeps crawling its way back to my wallet and away from the sock drawer.

What is impressive about the Uber Visa credit card is the remarkable 4% cashback rewards for dining out. What is even more remarkable is the credit card’s annual fee of ZERO. Yes, you read that right.

Who is the Uber Visa credit card for?

The Uber Visa can find itself being useful in all situations, but the target demographic is typically millennials who dine out often and prioritizes experiences over material purchases. The 4% cashback on dining makes the credit card a stand out for restaurant goers because it is currently one of the highest rewards redemption on the market currently. Even if you don’t fall in the category of someone who eats out often, the no annual-fee makes at least owning the card in case an easy decision – for when you do dine out, you have it!

What are the Uber Visa credit card benefits?

The Uber Visa has a sign-up bonus of $100 on a minimum spend of $500, which makes the credit card an attractive option for a no-annual fee, high usage, everyday credit card.

Everyday cashback rewards from regular credit card usage

4% back on restaurants, takeout, and bars, including Uber Eats
3% back on hotel and airfare including vacation home rentals
2% back for online purchases, including Uber and music streaming services
1% back on all other purchases

Other credit card perks

Up to a $50 statement credit for online subscription services after you spend $5,000 or more on your card per year.
Exclusive access to exclusive events – Receive invites to exclusive events and offers in select U.S. cities.

Which credit bureau does Uber Visa hard pull from?

The Uber Visa credit card was made in partnership with Barclays. I recommend checking out your chances of approval by researching your own credit score first. Upon applying, a hard pull will be made on your TransUnion credit bureau score.

My Uber Visa credit card review

As you may tell, I am a huge fan of the Uber Visa credit card. I have been using the card religiously for dining purchases the past 3 years. And during that time frame, I have pocketed a good chunk of change thanks to the 4% cashback on restaurants.

I would describe myself as a person who eats out on occasion once or twice a week, and I found myself accumulating cashback quite easily. Over the span of the 3 years of owning and using the Uber Visa credit card, I have redeemed over $1000 in cashback – which should give some perspective on how easy it is to rack up cashback points within a couple of years.

The best way to maximize the $50 steaming service credit is to update your payment method to the Uber Visa across services you have reoccurring bills for and set the automatic payment to Autopay. After that is set, you should be able to sit back and relax, and be eligible for the $50 streaming credit after regular usage.

If you are still on the fence on whether you should apply for the Uber Visa, do yourself a favor and apply. Quite simply, the no annual fee and high reward redemption makes the question of applying a no-brainer. The sign-up bonus of $100 on a minimum spend of $500, only sweetens the deal.

Worst case scenario, the credit card ends up in your sock drawer if you don’t eat out and helps you accumulate credit card age and history due to the zero annual fee – and used on occasion when you do eat out.

Best case scenario, the Uber Visa credit card will find its way into your everyday wallet with its undeniable 4% cashback redemption on restaurants.
